Students, if you see an orange CLOSED FOR CLEANING sign on a bathroom door, DO NOT ENTER. Please wait for the adult to exit the bathroom before entering. We perform regular maintenance and safety inspections which normally take less than 2 minutes. If you cannot wait, use a different restroom. Again, do not enter bathrooms when an orange sign is posted for cleaning. Thank you.

 

HAPPENING TODAY

ACT Test - anyone taking the ACT on October 28 should sign up before September 22nd. Stop by counseling for details.

 

There will be a Junior class meeting on Friday, September 22nd, in Mrs. Dobson’s room (53). All members of the Junior class are welcome and encouraged to come. We will be discussing upcoming football concessions that the Junior class is running on September 29th, and there will be sign-ups to help. Please come if you want to be involved with planning prom this year!

 

Boys basketball meeting for anyone interested in trying out for basketball this season. This Friday in Room 55 during lunch.

 

FRIDAY: Football @ Delhi. Cheer and JV football release tomorrow at 2:15, leave at 2:30. Varsity release at 2:40 leave at 3 pm.

 

Natural Helpers please get your permission slips for the retreat on the 22nd in ASAP. Space is limited.

 

Dinner with a Scientist will be on October 5th this year. This is a yearly event held at UC Merced to inspire, promote, and engage young women's interest in many of the STEM fields.  If you are interested in being a part of this event, please fill out the application form in the counseling office.

There is no school on Monday.

HAPPENING TOMORROW (TUESDAY)

CSF will be meeting in room 9 at lunch on 9/26. Will be nominating officers and voting on activities.

 

Students who need help finishing their record books for Fair there are 2 works days for you to come in and get assistance.  Tuesday, Sept 26 and Thursday Sept 28 at lunch in Mrs. Wise's classroom.

 

Starting next week, food service is going to have lunch Specials in addition to their normal menu items.

Supplies will be limited - First Come First Served

    Tuesday the 26th we will be serving Sloppy Joes

    Wednesday the 27th we will be serving Turkey Chili

 

IN OTHER NEWS

Any athlete in need of a tie or two come see coach DeSandres in room 55.He has over 50 really nice ties to give away.

 

The counseling office is looking for a few good tutors! This is a paid position. Stop by the counseling office for details.

Anyone wishing to have input on this years senior t-shirts can send or share their ideas with Ms. Monson, Violet Matlock, or Danielle Marquez. Although artwork is welcome it is not necessary. Submissions can be as simple as a screenshot of a t-shirt you like either on social media, from another school, or from a design website.

 

A special message from the yearbook staff to all 2018 seniors, the deadline for uploading your senior picture is November 1.

TESTING OPPORTUNITIES

 

Juniors and Seniors, the ASVAB test will be given on October 10th, 8am in the gym. This test is great for career exploration and a great opportunity. Sign up in the counseling office by Friday October 6th.

 

Attention Sophomores - the PSAT test is scheduled for October 11 during school. The fee is $16. If you are interested or have questions, please stop by the counseling office. Deadline to sign up is October 9.

Art club is all about field trips to museums and community art projects.  If you're interested, sign up outside room 7.  All are welcome to join. Our first meeting will be next Wednesday, 9/27 at the beginning of lunch in room 7.

 

FFA NEWS

All FFA students who exhibited and sold an animal at the fair your unsealed thank you cards and record books are due by Monday, October 2nd to your species Advisor.  Failure to get both done by that date will result in you no longer being eligible to exhibit with Mariposa FFA at the 2018 Mariposa Fair.

 

Students who need help finishing their record books for Fair there are 2 works days for you to come in and get assistance.  Tuesday, Sept 26 and Thursday Sept 28 at lunch in Mrs. Wise's classroom.

The Learning Center is open at 7:45 before school and at lunch to check out books, work on homework, print out homework, get help with homework, or make an appointment for tutoring. Mrs. Long is ready to help you. The Learning Center is open after school every day until 4:15 for homework time or tutoring services.

French Club Members: Please pay your $5 dues to Mrs. Dobson or Sawyer Shaddix and remember to sign up to bring something to our pique-nique de rentree Thursday at lunch.

 

First FFA meeting of year is Thursday evening in Croft court dinner starts at 5:45 and meeting begins at 6pm. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend this first meeting.

 

All girls varsity basketball players please come to a short meeting in DeSandres room at lunch.  Important. Basketball conditioning is cancelled for today.
