Congratulations to Claire Gorham for winning third place and $500 at the state American Association of University Women Conference in the Bay Area last month. This is in addition to the $150 she won for coming in first place locally. Mariposa AAUW will be holding this contest again next year. It is open to ALL students, male and female. The first meeting will happen in December before Winter Break and the contest itself will happen in late February. This might seem like a long way away, but it's never too early to start thinking about the topic. Next year's topic is, "Is it time to finally pass the Equal Rights Amendment?" Think about it, and we hope next year you will compete.
