Spirit week is this week! Today is pajama day. For examples of these spirit days check the MCHS Instagram @mchsgrizzlies or on Facebook @MariposaCountyHighSchool (12/6)

 

 

*For this holiday season MCHS will be adopting a family. This means that our high school will be reaching out to a family in need to help make this holiday one to remember.

  • Staff will be in charge of gifts for a 3 year old girl and a 2 year old boy

  • Freshmen are to bring gifts for a 13 year old boy

  • Sophomores are assigned a 16 year old girl

  • Juniors will bring gifts for a Mom

  • Seniors a 9 year old girl

Unwrapped gifts are to be turned in to your class advisor, or if you are unable to bring a gift for the person your class was assigned but you are able to provide a present for another family member please bring it to Mr. Moczygemba's Room #51 or the counseling office. Items that have been requested by the family, and more information on what would be appreciated will be handed out to classes shortly. If you are unable to bring in an item, cash donations are also acceptable and cash boxes will be located in Mr. Moczygemba's  and the counseling office. Items need to brought in by the last day of school before break. (12/5)

*During inclement weather, we will serve the second chance breakfast cart and the sandwich cart outside under the overhang by the attendance office.

SPORTS REPORT

 

The Football End of the Season Awards Banquet had to be rescheduled to January 15th - 1 pm at the Fairgrounds.

 

Softball players:  girls who are not playing a winter sport, reminder to get cleared for softball conditioning, which will begin Thursday January 5 at 3:05 on the varsity softball field.  Bring water, comfortable workout shoes, and a sweatshirt/jacket.

A huge thanks to the Junior class so far for raising over $75 in just two days. With that and other donations from other classes we have raised over $100 in just two days.  There is still time to help out.  Drop of gifts or donations to your class adviser, or to Mr. Moczygemba in Room 51.  (12/5)

 

Interested in a career studying and protecting wildlife, plants and the natural landscape? Today, Park Ranger Erik Westerlund, will entertain us with a slide presentation about the day in the life of a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park. All are welcome on Wednesday. There is still room to attend today. Stop by and hear all about this exciting career.(12/7)

If you are going on the Drama Club field trip to Playhouse Merced please meet in front of the school no later than 9:45 on Wednesday to board the buses.  We will not be stopping for lunch so please bring a snack or sack lunch to eat before or after the play. (12/7)

This Wednesday, Park Ranger Erik Westerlund, will entertain us with a slide presentation about the day in the life of a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park. Attention all freshmen.  We need decorations for our hallway ASAP.  Ask your parents and please bring lights, decorations, etc. to Mr. Starchman in Room 1 so we can start to design our hallway. (12/2)

 

AAUW's SpeechTrek allows all MCHS students the opportunity to write, memorize, and perform a 5 to 6 minute speech on a great topic. Why do this? To win cash prizes! Come to the first informational meeting on Tuesday, December 6, at lunch in Mr. Starchman's room #1. Get an application and eat free pizza! (T/Th/M/W)
